BLA Members Celebrate at MPA Health and Safety Awards 2012
The MPA held its annual Health and Safety Awards 2012 at BAFTA, London on 13th November. Overall, there were 142 entries for all the award categories and the BLA is delighted that Singleton Birch Ltd won the John Crabbe Memorial Trophy for 'Outstanding Excellence in Health and Safety', which was the top award of the event.
Tarmac Buxton Lime and Cement also won an award for ‘Worker Involvement’, which illustrated the BLA’s commitment to health and safety in front of an audience of MPA members, contractors and other key stakeholders.

The BLA is a constituent body of the Mineral Products Association (MPA), which is the trade association for the aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, lime, mortar and silica sand industries. The BLA represents the interests of three member companies, responsible for producing 75% of the lime sold in the UK. The BLA members are Lhoist UK, Singleton Birch Ltd and Tarmac.
